Tax the Rich!

Anyone else tired of the same pathetic political rhetoric in this country?  The GOP (Group of Old People) seems to want to continue to balance the books for their mistakes on the backs of the middle class.  And thanks to the huge influx of people to the poorer classes provided by the previous administration, they seem to think that cutting spending is the only way out of their mess.

The attitude is “By God, I am right and I am going to prove it if it kills my constituency” is the lamest form of response in this economic mess.

Look at it this way, if the U.S. was a business that was failing, how would I keep it open?  Keep cutting expenses until I was the only “employee” left to do all the work?  No.  I would cut expenses as necessary to the minimum required to maintain the quality of the product I produce along with increasing the amount of revenue coming in to the enterprise by going after sales and other diversified sources of income.  It’s that simple, folks.

If the top 2% doesn’t start paying it’s fair share of the burden of maintaining this country and lifestyle we love for everyone, we are in for a modern-day version of a peasant revolution.  To be blunt, the folks in Washington – Republicans and Democrats alike – had better collectively “grow a pair” and join the ranks of responsible adults and do the right thing.
